As a freelance journalist and essayist, Emily writes all things from parenting articles to op-eds encouraging people to get involved in ending gun violence in America. The majority of her journalism work is in the beauty sector, where she has created a niche role covering organically made, conscious/green/clean beauty products since 2010.
Emily focuses on brands primarily led by women and people from groups often marginalized in the beauty world: LGBTQ+, BIPOC, and other underrepresented creators and brand founders, who use their companies as ways to tell stories much bigger than beauty, and are committed to working to reverse climate change and raise awareness around waste and ethical consumption, give back to communities, and educate consumers on the origins of traditional beauty rituals and ingredients.
